Orient’s diver designed models are an important part of Orient’s history and have represented everything that the brand stands for since their launch in the 1960s. This series has a dolphin icon engraved on the case back and is affectionally known as Orient Mako. Since its launch in 2004, the model has been released in a wide variety of dial colours and details. Since April 2023, the lineup includes solar-powered chronograph models alongside the existing mechanical watches. They are powered by converting energy obtained from sunlight and other light sources into electrical energy, so there is no need to replace batteries on regular basis. This makes them convenient for daily use and outdoor activities when the chronograph function is used.

A highlight feature of the limited-edition 20th anniversary model is the blue gradation from 12 o’clock to 6 o’clock representing the beautiful ocean surrounding Japan, while the dial’s stamped wave pattern, coupled with the words “Anniversary Edition” at 4 o’clock and spectacular gold-coloured hands, highlight the celebratory feel of the 20th anniversary model.

The uni-directional rotating bezel with six grooves common to all Orient Mako/Diver design models, is coupled with a two-toned blue and black aluminium plate with the colours separating at the triangular and 20-minute markers for the anniversary model.

Solar battery charging is achieved through three subdials; a 24-hour indicator at 3 o’clock, a 60-minute counter at 6 o’clock, and a small second subdial at 9 o’clock. An Arabic numeral inspired by the first Orient Mako/Diver design model adorns the 12 o’clock position, and Luminous Light is used for the numeral, indices and hands, allowing the time to be read even in the dark.
The dial with metallic texture comes in three colours: the 20th anniversary model’s blue gradation, as well as sky blue and red. All three colours come with black subdials, and each of the colourways enhance the sporty design that characterises chronograph watches. The glass is made of sapphire crystal for scratch-resistance, and the screw down crown and case back offer high water resistance to 20 bar.

The 20th anniversary Diver design model with chronograph functions is available in a limited edition of 3,000 pieces. The model is ideal for both established fans and collectors, as well as casual users seeking to enjoy the diver designed watches everyday. The vibrant sky blue and red models also bring together the two design elements of diver and chronograph. Equipped with the convenience of solar-powered battery, they are perfectly suited for any style or occasion.
